description

Specification

Street Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of a footbridge at Street Skate Park under a lease arrangement with Joseph and Frances Clark Trust. Following deterioration to the wooden planks during late December 2024, the footbridge was cordoned off and the Skate Park closed on safety grounds.

Street Parish Council has a duty under the lease to maintain the footbridge and are seeking tenders for a contractor to investigate the condition of the pedestrian footbridge and submit a proposal for its repair or replacement. The current lease arrangement is in place until 15th September 2039 upon which time the lease arrangement is likely to be reviewed.

Nature of deterioration

At least four wooden planks/boards together with at least one of the wooden bridge hand rails show rot.
It has not been confirmed whether there is further rot in the wooden sub structure - though this may be present due to the age of the bridge.
Quotation to include all necessary works associated with the current pedestrian footbridge repair or replacement (to include removal of any waste as required).
