Updated: Children and Young People Impacted by Domestic Abuse
The Mayor of London's Violence Reduction Unit is seeking applications from specialist organisations to deliver the Children and Young People Impacted by Domestic Abuse (CYPIDA) Programme. This is a 2-year (24 month) programme to be delivered across London with a potential start date of March 2022. In the context of early intervention and prevention, the VRU recognises the need to support children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse in the home by developing therapeutic interventions that support the well-being of each child or young person.
Age ranges are from 11 -24 years of age, the successful organisation will work in collaboration with Operation Encompass, the Metropolitan Police and Educational settings to ensure that CYP are identified and referred to a suitable intervention according to their needs. The VRU's new CYPIDA Programme seeks to develop dynamic interventions for CYP by facilitating access to counsellors, psychotherapists or therapeutic activities.
This Invitation to Tender sets out the Unit's plans to design and deliver an intensive programme to support children and young people impacted by domestic abuse. There are 2 Lots based upon 4 geographical locations: Lot 1 North and East London and Lot 2 South and West London working with a minimum of 4 boroughs in each geographical location. Both Lots have the same aims of improving the well-being of CYP through the delivery of person-centred interventions.
London's Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has a focus on early intervention. Through adopting a contextual approach to violence reduction, the Unit has in place a range of programmes which are aimed to reduce risks faced by young Londoners; support them in staying safe and providing opportunities for young people to fulfil their potential.
