description
The work is to be undertaken in accordance with the SBRI application 60869-444211 part 8 submitted to and held by Innovate UK for the Fuels and Lubricants programme.
Demonstrate feasibility of a portable and efficient test system to support lubricant condition based maintenance. The project shall demonstrate the potential for a novel rugged hand-held external lubricant condition monitor.
The key deliverables of the project are as follows:
- Experimental results demonstrating the degree of sensitivity to changes in lubricant viscosity analogous to initial degradation.
- Experimental results demonstrating potential to operate sensor in wide environmental conditions without significant impact to performance.
- Study to calculate operating performance of a hand-held field test unit. Including: battery life, weight, robustness, price differential versus laboratory unit.
- Report on findings of the above points
