The Learning & Development Team are currently working with the Income Management section of Sandwell MBC to commission an in-depth development course to enable employees to make decisions on housing benefit claims from people who have arrived in the UK from the EEA and other parts of the world.

Course Outcome Requirements:

To give employees an understanding of:

• oFalling in and out of eligibility
• oRights of family members
• oEligibility for social housing from applicants from abroad outside the EU
• oSponsorship
• oLimited leave to remain
• oRelevant documents and what they mean
• oRights of UK Citizens returning to the UK
• oDerivative right to reside
• oPermanent residence and how to qualify GPOW for JSA
• oDomestic Violence and EEA Nationals
