description
NHS South of England Procurement Services (SoEPS), acting on behalf of Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are commencing a tender for the provision of Routes into Medicine and Allied Health Professions - Health Education England.
At Health Education England, one of our key areas is to widen access to medicine. Widening access to medicine continues to be a challenge due to its highly selective, high entry tariff. With a focus on diversity, inclusion and widening participation from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups, Health Education England wish to support the supply of young people into healthcare professions including medicine, and allied health professions. The Allied Health Professions (AHPs) are the third largest workforce in the NHS. In the main they are degree level professions, and are professionally autonomous practitioners. Health Education England are inviting bidders to submit a tender response to develop and deliver a Routes into Medicine and AHP programme for up to 350 participants to take place during 2019-2025. An essential criterion for the provider is that they have the capacity and capability to fully deliver the programme by 2025.
The maximum contract value, over six years is £500,000 (exclusive of VAT). The initial contract will be for one year. The Commissioner retains the option to extend the contract by a further 5 years, subject to annual review and availability of budget.
