We are seeking an agency or consultant/consultancy to deliver an in-depth review of the response to autism in education including the level of inclusivity, developing an understanding of the current picture and how it can be improved.
This would include but not be limited to looking at areas such as the school physical environment, assessing the sufficiency of places in the right areas of education, reviewing school behaviour policies and implementation, reviewing the staff quality and training in relation to working with autistic children, identifying any challenges, reviewing the preparation for opportunities past school for autistic children, the approach the exams and qualifications and then creating recommendations based on evidence within the findings.
This would need to involve on the ground work in education establishments to fully understand the way things are currently as well as looking to best practice and national guidelines to develop areas for improvement and highlight risks. The provider would be expected to look at different schools in the borough to build the picture across the different age groups and transition points.
The objective of this market engagement exercise is to understand the capacity and level of interest within the market to deliver this programme of work and the estimated value and timescales of the delivery.
