description

The Department of Community and Children's Services of the City of London wishes to commission a satellite supported housing service to its single homeless pathways comprising of circa 6 bed spaces for single homeless vulnerable adults and for rough sleepers from the City of London to support the City's strategic intention to end rough sleeping.

The City of London holds a unique position amongst housing authorities. We have a tiny resident population of c. 9,400 (roughly equivalent to that of the Scilly Isles) and a huge working population estimated at 500,000 daily visitors. The Square Mile has the smallest geography of any local authority in Greater London. The City has a built environment characterised by public squares, elevated walkways, small green spaces and office complexes and a number of transport hubs and termini. These factors, together with the City's position at the very heart of London, results in a disproportionately large rough sleeping population.
