AHDB Dairy invites applications from appropriately qualified and experienced providers to supply project management services during the planning, implementation and reporting of an industry development project being coordinated by AHDB. The role is to oversee and report on the delivery of prototype data ‘hub’, which will facilitate the exchange of data across the livestock supply chain. The focus initially is on cattle, and on sharing data which will underpin risk-based trading e.g. for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea. The prototype data exchange hub will interface with a range of primary and secondary sources to facilitate shared access and the exchange of data. The data exchange ‘hub’ will consist of an IT platform hosting the data, together with a web-based services layer linking data providers and data users. The project will be overseen by a Project Steering Group (PSG) made up of industry stakeholders. The provider appointed must have a combination of livestock industry knowledge, good project management skills and strategic consultancy experience. In addition, they will have the necessary drive, communication and influencing skills to secure the commitment and credibility of diverse industry and Government stakeholders. It is envisaged that up to three days a week will be required to deliver the work, over a twelve month period. The contract is expected to commence on 1 August 2015. Some travel will be required within the British Isles.
