description
National Citizen Service (NCS) is the country's fastest-growing youth movement, a rite of passage for all teenagers aged 15-17 to discover who they are and what they can do. Nearly 500,000 young people have already taken part. Find out more at www.ncsyes.co.uk
NCS currently has the following opportunity for the provision of Sports and arts design partners for the National Citizen Service Trust.
The National Citizen Service Trust seeks to award contracts to two separate specialist design partners to design a sports-themed version and an arts-themed version of the standard NCS programme model that aims to attract a new audience of young people to take part in NCS.
The design work of the sports and arts models of NCS will start in April 2019 and iterations will continue to May 2020, with initial design pilots taking place in the Summer/Autumn 2019 and Summer 2020 school holidays.
Design outputs for each model will include, but not be limited to:
| - | Programme and curriculum design for all phases of the NCS Programme |
| - | Recommendations and outlines of suitable venues and logistical considerations |
| - | Training and recruitment materials for young people and delivery staff |
The sports and arts themed models will be designed for ages 16 - 17 years old (Year 11 and 12) and will be inclusive for all young people and comply with the Equality Act 2010.
The models designed will follow the same structure as the standard NCS model, with the sports and arts themes existing across all phases of delivery, including any pre and post programme activity. The sports and arts models will need to achieve the same outcomes and impact for the young people as the standard programme.
The models designed must be scalable and able to be delivered in all localities, regions, urbanities and ruralities, as well as all sizes of delivery partners and must be delivered within our current unit cost of the programme.
