Suppliers must have previous experience of manufacture and installation of bridges. Lodgemore Lane Lifting Bridge is to be located on the site of an existing fixed bridge which once formed a swing bridge built in the 1940`s to replace an earlier swing bridge. The bridge is a mixed usage bridge which also acts as one of two primary routes across a presently unrestored section of the Stroudwater canal to the WSP Lodgemore Textile Mill. The existing fixed bridge is to be demolished and replaced by a manually operated overhead counterweight lifting bridge. The scope of the Contract is for the <i>Contractor</i> to act as <i>Principle Contractor</i> under CDM and undertake the detail design, manufacture, works assembly, works testing, transport to site, erection, site testing, commissioning, complete documentation, including Operational and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals information for Health & Safety file and Technical file for, CE Marking, facilities for full testing, software and programming tools and setting to work of: Demolishing, removal and disposal of the existing bridge deck. A new overhead counterweight lifting bridge with fabricated bridge deck and fabricated counterweight superstructure complete with parapets andsurfacing. Demolishing, removal and disposal of the existing bridge foundations. New civil works foundations at the nose and tail of the bridge. Manually operated traffic barriers on both the North and South approachesto the bridge. Cabling and wiring including containment and draw pits for the site asrequired by the new systems (If required) Street furniture bollards on the North and South approaches to the bridge. A new operators pedestal containing the manually operated hydraulicpump for lifting the bridge. Bridge bearings. Other more minor items as further described in the system documentation
