description
An exciting opportunity to develop a new online / APP based customer journey to support contractors wishing to apply for and maintain their certification to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
In 2023, we will make a significant change to how we support contractors to become MCS certified.
The current membership/certification process is complicated. MCS is delivered by a third party organisations and involves contractors contacting various organisations outside of our own - this includes Consumer Codes and Certification Bodies.
To make this process simpler for contractors, and to ensure that we can guarantee the quality associated with our MCS Mark, we plan to create a new portal that will provide a one-stop shop for contractors. We're calling this the MCS Hub.
In the first instance, this will support a contractor with the necessary steps they need to complete to undertake an application to become MCS certified. Our future ambition is that the Hub will be the central system that contractors will use to not only obtain but also maintain their certification.
The MCS Hub will provide contractors with one location that they can come to access the full certification process - with all of the elements involved integrated, as much as possible. The purpose of the Hub is to ensure that contractors don't get lost in a process which involves multiple organisations, gathering lots of information and undertaking their own checks.
We expect that the MCS Hub platform will allow us to build relationships with our contractors from the earliest stage in their certification journey. It will also give us oversight of the pipeline of contractors attempting to gain certification.
Through the MCS Hub we will be able to:
| - | Support contractors with each step in their certification journey, providing access to an information hub that will hold all of the scheme Standards and advice on the process of becoming MCS certified. |
| - | Provide for a support/messaging centre in which contractors can raise queries that MCS, certification bodies and consumer codes can respond to, opening up a simple real-time communication gateway straight to contractors. |
| - | Simplify the process of becoming MCS certified with contractors having all of the information they require, with a single point of entry into gaining their certification |
