description
Stockport Council wishes to commission a dynamic and enthusiastic provider to deliver an Information, Advice and Support and Children's Advocacy Service for SEND as detailed in the specification document and meeting at least the Minimum Standards for IASS , with the following objectives: • To ensure that children and their parents/carers, and young people are able to be fully involved in the identification, assessment and decision making about the provision to meet identified Special Educational Needs or Disabilities as required by the SEND Code of Practice, 2015. The provision of high-quality information, advice and support is crucial to support this objective. • To ensure parents, children and young people receive high quality, impartial and accessible information, advice and support that are appropriate to their needs, extends their knowledge and maximises their involvement in decision making. • To ensure parents, children and young people are supported to understand their rights, roles and responsibilities within the legislative frameworks that apply to special educational needs and disability. • Where self-advocacy is difficult, to help children and families say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. • To promote social inclusion, equality and social justice. This opportunity is advertised under the Light Touch Regime.
