In the 2021/2022 financial year, the British Business Bank's communications strategy and plan focused on supporting two of the Bank's six business objectives:

1.Business Objective: Be the centre of expertise on smaller business finance in the UK, providing advice and support to Government.

Communications objectives:

•Establish and enhance the Bank's position as the centre of expertise on smaller business finance in the UK, seen as a prominent thought leader and stakeholder in Scotland

•Raise awareness of the Bank's role in increasing the supply of finance and creating a more diverse finance market to its target audiences in Scotland, including media and local stakeholders such as business growth hubs, local authorities, councillors and financial intermediaries. •Demonstrate that the Bank is a catalyst for change in reducing regional imbalances in access to finance

•Protect the Bank's reputation in times of crisis

2.Business Objective: We identify and help to reduce imbalances in access to finance for smaller businesses across the UK to encourage and enable SMEs to seek the finance best suited to their needs.

Communications objectives:

•Champion access to finance for smaller businesses and celebrate their success

•Raise awareness of the finance options available to smaller businesses across the UK for start-up, scale-up and stay ahead businesses

•Establish the Bank as the expert on independent and impartial information for smaller businesses by raising awareness of the Business Finance Guide and the Finance Hub

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
