description

In-depth development and testing of the concept of a Natural Capital Trust in an operational setting as proposed in draft versions of the 25 Year Environment Plan. Building on previous Defra-funded piloting work to develop a payments for ecosystem services scheme in the west of England, the project would explore the potential for not-for-profit Natural Capital Trusts to pool resources from across an area and a range of funding sources. This would enable integrated and strategic natural capital investment decisions within landscapes and catchments, and assess the potential fit with the 14 area plans for England.
