description

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has been awarded funding by the Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to support the development of an Energy Strategy and implementation plan for the county. The work is intended to build awareness of the LEP's role in the context of energy, provide a pathway for the LEP to build on previous work, capitalise on the area's strengths and address the challenges of decarbonisation to deliver affordable energy and clean growth. The work will inform the development of Worcestershire's Local Industrial Strategy other relevant local strategic plans. Its ultimate aim is to develop a strong pipeline of investable low carbon projects.

Worcestershire has an existing evidence base including a county-wide Climate Change Strategy. The LEP is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Service Provider to review the existing information and, starting from that baseline, develop (and help articulate) a compelling county-wide Energy Strategy and Implementation Plan.
