description
Southend-on-Sea City Council will shortly be seeking tenders from suitably experienced providers for the provision of Healthy Lifestyles services.
As part of a wider engagement and consultation, we are inviting stakeholders to a market engagement event held on Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) to inform the service model and service specification for the provision of this service.
To increase health and wellbeing, it is essential that people are able to maintain behaviour change in the longer term to benefit not only their health but their quality of life; this can be achieved through self-management, improved health literacy and confidence. We are therefore seeking to procure a contract for Healthy Lifestyles services for the city as part of a comprehensive programme of health and wellbeing interventions and services for people living and working in Southend-on-Sea.
The aim of the contract is to deliver the following:
| • | Adult Weight Management Services |
| • | Smoking and Vaping Cessation |
| • | Making Every Contact Count Workplace Wellbeing |
| • | Outreach and GP Health Checks |
| • | Social prescribing |
| • | Physical Activity Interventions |
| • | Falls Prevention |
The provider will be required to deliver an innovative approach to improving health and wellbeing by utilising community assets or emerging technology, and ensuring collaboration with a broad range of partners, including but not limited to the NHS, Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System, Active Southend, local voluntary and community organisations and more.
The event will open with a presentation from our Director of Public Health to outline the service and talk through the upcoming tender opportunity.
Date: 18th October 2023
Time: 14:00 - 15:00
Venue: MS Teams
Please e-mail procurementadvisors@southend.gov.uk to confirm your place, and a MS Teams meeting invite will then be sent to all attendees.
