ORE Catapult intends to expand its cable testing capabilities by asking a contractor to provide a detailed design for a dynamic cable compression test rig that is capable of simulating in-service dynamic loads for floating offshore wind (FOW) applications.
Fundamentally, the rig design is expected to comprise of:
- A steel frame.
- End terminations.
- Bending Actuators.
- Horizontal tension/compression Actuator.
- The cable specimen (during testing).
- Ancillary mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control system
