project_25130 - Earth Observation - Tree species mapping and stress identification

A key policy need for both central and local government officials working in tree health is the provision of host maps at a species level which can be used as a source of information on where specific species are located. Knowledge of the location of trees will inform both policy and operations, especially in the event of a pest or disease outbreak.

This Contract will utilise Earth observation data to provide:

1. Host species maps: mapping of oak and ash trees in England
2. Hazard maps: modelled outputs of the probability of disease occurrence that utilises algorithms developed to detect stress in trees.
