CBC-0912-H-CE Tree Strategy - AWARD

Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) wishes to appoint appropriate consultants to develop a Tree Strategy to support the CBC Local Plan 2035 (LP).

CBC recognises the importance of woodlands, trees and hedgerows as key features within the rural and urban environments. Not only do they add colour, life and interest, they enhance the sense of place, protect the environment, provide habitats and improve quality of life. Central Bedfordshire has a relatively low level of woodland and tree cover and this limited resource is under threat from disease, development and climate change.

Central Bedfordshire has a number of important tree collections, historic parklands and trees planted to commemorate events which contribute to its present day character. It is also home to the Forest of Marston Vale, one of 12 Community Forests nationally.

The primary purpose of the brief is to produce a Tree Strategy that reviews the existing tree cover and identify threats and opportunities for enhancing, extending and protecting tree cover across Central Bedfordshire, taking into account local and national policies and guidance.

Completed Quotations and attachments should be submitted electronically by the due date via our 'In-Tend' electronic tendering system. Quotations must be uploaded via the 'My Return' section of the system. Quotations submitted via the 'Correspondence' facility will not be considered. Your quotation must be submitted via the In-Tend system no later than 12:00 noon on 14/09/2018. Quotations after this time will be excluded.

Help and support - The Council will provide as much support and information as it can to help guide you through the Quotation process. Questions asked together with the response, will be made available to all firms quoting, to ensure a fair and consistent approach to all. If there is anything you are not sure of or need clarification of, then please contact us using the correspondence facility within the In-tend electronic tendering system.
