Telemetric In-Cab Information System for South Hams District Council

South Hams District Council is situated on the south coast bordering Plymouth to the west and the Districts of Teignbridge and Torbay to the East. The A38 trunk road crosses the district at the northern side. The terrain has caused difficulties in the past with a regular disruption to the mobile phone signal and radio communications are spasmodic at best. The Authority is seeking a Contractor that can provide them with a robust in-cab telemetric monitor and reporting System that can be utilised both as a fixed in-cab unit and as a hand held option for operatives/managers. The System provided must be able to meet the specification as detailed within the procurement documents. It is intended that any resultant Contract shall commence as soon after receipt of formal letter of award as may be agreed, subject to Member approval. Contract period to be a period of three (3) years with the ability to extend the additional support for a further maximum period of two (2) years, to be awarded in annual increments, or until the end of the allocated budget subject to termination clauses contained within either the Standard or Special Terms and Conditions, whichever prevails.
