Leeds City Council is seeking to determine the potential level of interest and the capability of potential providers to provide advice as follows:
- a)Advise how the current mix of tenants in the Market and, events in the 1976 market hall can be improved to increase the attractiveness of the Market to a wider customer base, including the provision of additional quality food and beverage offer across the Market as a whole to complement the existing fresh food offer.
- b)Inform the development of a strategy to further promote Kirkgate Market for the benefit of existing traders and to attract new traders and customers to the Market.
- c)With regard to comparable retail opportunities/markets, assess and advise as to what the approach to charges and rents should be for the different types of business and size of stall in the different market halls.
- d)Pending redevelopment, advise as to the potential for short term lets of vacant shop units on George Street.
- e)To present proposals for the letting and management of the events space in the Covered Daily Market in order to maximise activity and vibrancy complimentary to the Market's core business.
