Condition Survey and Net Capacity Assessment

The Royal Borough of Greenwich school estate consists of 62 primary schools and 7 secondary schools that are either community schools or voluntary aided schools. In order to be able to assess the capacity and condition of the estate a programme of surveys is required across the estate.

Condition Survey

A full condition survey is required on 31 schools. The condition survey should be a full condition survey in accordance with methodology used in the Education Funding Agency (EFA) Property Data Survey Programme. It is expected that this will be achieved by a site inspection and any access equipment required should be provided by the surveyor.

Measured Survey

A full measured survey of 68 sites will need to be done. The survey should cover both the internal and external areas of the site and be in 3D. The output should be put into a Revit model or similar and CAD drawings should be available for the general arrangement of each floor as well as 2 cross sections through the building. External elevations for each aspect of the building should also be available.

Net Capacity Assessments

A net capacity assessment for 36 sites should be carried out in accordance with the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) document entitled “Assessing the Net Capacity in Schools”, ref DfES/0739/2001.
