Market Engagement - Social, Emotional & Educational Support Services for Looked After Children

The Council is intending to go out to tender and commission a psychologically informed specialist service to work in partnership with the Virtual School. This service will involve working with Herefordshire school staff and foster carers, where applicable, to support them to understand why a looked after child who attends their school, may be presenting with challenging behaviour, and what strategies could be put in place to support that child. It may also support schools in other authorities, where a Herefordshire looked after child attends, which will be considered on a case by case basis i.e. depending on distance. As part of a soft market testing exercise the council is seeking responses to the following questionnaire from organisations with a track record in delivering a social, emotional and educational support service for looked after children who would be interested in delivering this service.
