The project incorporates the expansion of both the office and housing capacity of the UK Embassy in Kathmandu Nepal with strategic improvements to the Embassy estate.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for International Development are both Key stakeholders for this development. Both entities form part of the UK Government and are therefore governed by UK and European procurement policies. They are seeking an experienced contractor to take this opportunity through construction to completion.

The Scheme.

The UK Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal comprises circa 8 acres in the centre of Kathmandu containing a mixture of residential and office facilities. The embassy facilities and functions will remain operational throughout the construction period.

The project consists of the creation of additional office and residential premises within the existing embassy boundaries. The offices additional office space will be created via the refurbishment and extension of the existing Chancery building alongside a new single storey office building. The residential accommodation will consist of two, two storey, three bedroom detached houses.

The site wide improvements will include the re-provision of a multi-use games area, the refurbishment of the pool house, the re-location of the emergency stores and site wide improvements to surface finishes, parking provisions and landscaping.

This market sounding exercise is intended to alert potential organisations to the upcoming procurement opportunity and to test the suitability of the FCO proposition and the anticipated procurement process with the market.

Once registered you will be sent further information regarding the supplier briefing, the scheme and a short questionnaire that will require your input. The Questionnaire is intended to gather market views on the procurement route and tender contents. We will be reviewing the responses and will be utilising them to shape the final procurement route as it is not set in stone at this stage.

The response will be used to inform the supplier day and to test some initial ideas.

The deadline to register your interest is 8.4.2016.
