description
The Forestry Commission propose to redevelop the core facilities at the heart of Haldon Forest Park one of the principle outdoor recreation attractions in the South West of England. The aim is to provide improved and more accessible car parking, modern buildings that are efficient and economic to run, with improved infrastructure that will equip the site for continued growth in demand and changes in customer needs into the future.
The purpose of this tender is to identify and appoint a supplier of professional services that will work with the Forestry Commission to assess the current position in terms of buildings, access and services, identify the constraints on redevelopment and provide cost effective and realistically future proofed solutions, preparing detailed Concept design proposals, cost information and project strategies up to and including RIBA Plan of Work 2013 Stage 3 (Developed Design). The proposals will need to be submitted to the local planning authority to gain pre planning advice. At this point the project will be submitted to the Forestry Commission board for approval to continue.
The professional services required will include (but not exclusively) land and building surveying to update information already held, the surveying of services in terms of location and adequacy, design including buildings and buildings services systems, landscape planning, civil engineering, quantity surveying, planning and highways advice and support.
Please express your interest in this tender to Robert Harris (robert.harris@forestry.gsi.gov.uk) by 26th June 2015 to allow us to notify you of any questions and answers we may receive.
