description
The future requirements relate to the stockpiles of emergency countermeasures for the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Programme (PIPP) and Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) Programme in place to provide rapid response and national (Primarily England with some support to the devolved administrations) coverage to either a Pandemic situation or other emergency incident. These programmes are in place to support front line healthcare professionals, as well as providing additional supply capacity to current business as usual healthcare provision; and which require separate stockpiles of clinically identified and approved pharmaceutical products as well as everyday hospital consumables for deployment in such events.
At a high level the future services are to warehouse & manage both stock piles, whilst maintaining a ready state for deployment in the event of a Pandemic event or an emergency incident.
This could range from national deployment to predefined locations within England or to specific/restricted geographical deployments anywhere in the country. • PIPP - long term storage of 52,000 pallets and deployed to agreed locations defined on an outbreak. • EPRR - a mixture between long term and strategically located storage (3,250 pallets) to support 5 hour deployment to anywhere within the country.
The purpose of this advert is to inform the market operators of a Supplier Bootcamp which the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is hosting on 30th November 2016 related to the procurement of a contract for the provision of logistic services.
The Supplier Bootcamp is one of the NHSBSA's preliminary market consultation activities, its purpose is to give the market a broad indication of the opportunity which the NHSBSA intends to offer and to receive feedback from the market as to the NHSBSA's proposed strategy to procure these services. It is not a call for competition. It is currently intended that a contract notice will be published as a call for competition once the NHSBSA's proposed strategy is fully developed. At the Supplier Bootcamp the NHSBSA will present and then offer all suppliers the opportunity of an individual meeting with members of the project team. These meetings will take place on 30th November 2016. Please register by no later than 12:00 noon on Monday 28th November 2016.
