description

A Fleet Minor Trial (FMT) is required to test a number of commercially available ultrasonic antifouling systems onboard RN vessels.

In order to further assess the viability of implementing these systems to effectively prevent biofouling on board, 3 different systems from 3 original equipment manufacturers (one supplier per vessel) will be fitted to 3 Batch 1 River Class offshore patrol vessels for the yearlong study. The trial shall last one year (to cover all seasons of fouling) and be focused on vessels in similar waters (for comparative fouling gradients).
