Project Aims

This project has the following key aims:-

To provide high quality affordable web hosting for JNCC websites

To provide technical support for host servers and virtual servers

Project Background

JNCC make extensive use of digital channels to disseminate data and information to partner organisations and more widely. Central to this are remote server facilities used to host web and database virtual servers.

Currently, JNCC has 2 leased physical servers (each HP DL380 G5 XN E5405, 24 GB RAM, 4 x 146 GB 10k HDD RAID 5), each hosting 4 virtual servers (all are Windows 2008 r2 except one Windows 2003 r2). Additional storage is provided by a QNAP NAS device (8 TB RAID 5, 6 TB usable).

The hardware is coming to end of life and the provision must be re-tendered. The existing supplier is exiting the market and so JNCC is seeking a new web hosting partner.
