description

Homes England is looking to consolidate and strengthen its strategic approach to design and sustainability and explore how it can better integrate design quality and sustainability objectives across its operations.

The agency is seeking consultancy support to work with the agency at pace to deliver phase one of this project over the next two months. The aim of this work is to develop:

the agency's vision on design and sustainability; and
a strategic framework for design and sustainability, underpinned by guiding principles.

Homes England expects this work will identify and draw on: a thorough review of existing literature, evidence, frameworks and policies relating to design and sustainability in housing and the built environment; and best practice across relevant sectors (e.g. development, home-building, built environment, investment, non-departmental public bodies) at a national and international level, and apply this to Homes England's context and approach. In addition, the agency expects the outputs of this work to be informed by extensive engagement, both internally within the agency and with a selection of Homes England's key partners and stakeholders across the housing market.
