description
Birmingham City Council (BCC) has announced its intention to bid to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games (CWG). To inform the bidding process and meet Commonwealth Games England’s (CWE) bidding requirements an objective evaluation of options and solution proposal is required to be prepared.
The Council is therefore looking to appoint a Provider to:
- Undertake a feasibility study (which meets CWE’s requirements) into the hosting of the 2026 CWG in Birmingham.
- Develop any further information and a compelling narrative which will enable Birmingham to exceed Commonwealth Games England’s requirements and will contribute to the City’s success.
- Prepare the bid documentation, including a ‘bid book’.
The successful provider will have an extensive and proven track record of working with cities and Local Authorities on ‘mega’ events, including experience of compiling and delivering bid feasibilities and delivery strategies, developing narrative, and identifying unique selling points.
BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest. The web address is: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/birminghamcc Registration and use of In-tend is free. All correspondence for this procurement process must be via the In-tend correspondence function.
