description

Following the fire and failure of the cladding systems fitted to Grenfell Towers in London. Bristol City Council engaged it's own surveying specialists to evaluate the External Wall Insulation fitted to it's own high rise blocks. As part of these works, 4 blocks at Barton Hill were identified as requiring further investigations. these blocks were Longlands House, Ashmead House, Harwood House & Barton House. The preferred method of carrying out the investigations is by the use of abseil technique and the scope of the works required are:

  • Remove once section of cladding 1500mm wide x 600mm deep on each floor on different elevations at fire barrier level
  • check for fire barrier confirm depth material and mesh lapping
  • check spacing of fixings and type i.e metal or plastic
  • replace, seal and encapsulate section back in place.
