Specialist Community Led Housing Consultancy - To Bring Forward Affordable Housing

South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council are working together to explore the potential for Community Led Development to enable the delivery of affordable housing for local people within our districts.

South Cambridgeshire District Council is leading on a joint procurement to obtain Specialist Community Led Housing Consultancy that will support the delivery of affordable housing.

The Councils want to understand the extent to which community led housing, such as Community Land Trusts, in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire might support the housing market in helping to provide affordable housing which meets the needs of local communities. This will include reviewing current policies, up-skilling council officers and consulting with communities to raise awareness of community-led development and assessing their appetite for bringing forward affordable housing.

We are looking for a contractor who has a proven track record in working with community-led groups that has brought forward affordable housing schemes, such as through Community Land Trusts. The contractor will have the experience and expertise to support community groups to set up and will support at least one community group to become established to progress an identified affordable housing scheme within the contract period.
