Title: SEND Commissioning Lead
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: 37 Hours
Location: Sandwell/Hybrid Day Rate ?600+
Insert Brief Job Summary:
You will be expected to describe the role within a few bullet points
- oTo lead on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of services for SEND and Alternative Provision
- oTo ensure that service development and redesign is undertaken to improve outcomes for children and young people in Sandwell
- oTo ensure that provision utilised by Sandwell for SEND/AP is of a good standard and meets the needs of children and young people and support the commissioning of complex placements
- oTo lead on the development of SEND commissioning plans and strategies, working with colleagues from across Children's Services, the Council and partners.
- oTo support colleagues across the partnerships and strategic commissioning team to ensure that services are commissioned that support SEND
- oSupport the development of specialist SEND places across Sandwell and lead of the management of the SEND capital grant
You will be expected to select up to five essential requirements for the role, insert these below
- oKnowledge of developments impacting on the functions of local authorities related to SEND, and the interrelationships between agencies.
- oKnowledge of current relevant legislation and statutory duties, responsibilities and best practice in the field of SEND and current local ,regional and national pressures relating to the field of SEND
- oExperience of joint collaborative working with professionals from a range of agencies, including co-ordinating inputs from a range of professional sources.
- oProven experience of commissioning services, developing services, strategies in a SEND, health or social care context
- oEvidence of success in change management and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
- oExperience of financial management and complex negotiations.
