description

Bristol and Bath Cultural Destinations Project are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to provide the design, technological hardware and system support for a regional Media Bank. A cloud based system to enable the sharing of broadcast standard film and audio assets for multiple users to aid the production of promotional films across the region.

The expectation is to handle 1 terabyte of media per week. A lightweight interface with clear submission, download and search functions with password protected logins for users. Registered users will be able to search for proxy files and then according to their membership terms can collate the assets into collections using a ‘shopping basket’ approach and download. A dashboard allowing Manager and Archivist roles to enhance metadata, control security and collect usage data. Appropriate standard controls and back-up solutions to provide a disaster-proof storage service to the depositors.

The system will need to be fully operational by March 2017 with a period of internal testing and depositing followed by proof-of-concept phase where maintenance and support is provided until October 2017.
