The projects objectives include;
| 1. | Reduce flood risk to properties and infrastructure associated with the risk of the Holme Fleet culvert becoming blocked |
| 2. | Assess options for the improvement/creation of wetland habitat in relation to Biodiversity Net Gain |
| 3. | Contribute to the Agency's aims to reduce carbon through creation of habitat that acts as a carbon sink and reduce or eliminate the necessity for over pumping during incident response. |
| 4. | Contribute to improving the WFD status of relevant waterbodies, which will help to meet the EA's legal obligations under the WFD. |
| 5. | Realise synergies associated with working in collaboration with Stockton Borough Council and the Stockton Tees Tidelands Project. |
