Invitation to Tender

PROJECT BRIEF

Bodmin Town Council (BTC) is seeking to invite tenders for the demolition and design and build of new modular Toilet facilities at Fairpark Bodmin.

The area assigned for development is located on the outskirts of Bodmin (see location map). A budget has been set aside to replace the existing toilet facility.

The aim of the project is to demolish and remove the existing toilet block and replace with a Cubicle style toilet. Primarily the Council are seeking one cubicle but will consider the potential of a second cubicle should space and cost allow.

Under the works you should allow for:

Development of the brief and specification.
Concept design
Statutory permissions i.e. Planning submission, Building Control.
Preparation of Tender and contract documents
Demolition of the existing facilities.
Manufacture and construction of new facilities
Supplier to take full responsibility to check and ascertain the installation feasibility.

The Council is initially seeking expressions of interest from companies to deliver the project from inception to completion.

Design

The Interiors are required to be highly attractive, while being resistant to vandalism.

A minimal amount of stainless steel, preferring solid surface materials and hardened tiles and laminates.

Cladding and roofline can be designed to fit into local environment.

The Council would expect a minimum 2-year product warranty and a 20-year structural warranty.

The Council are seeking to ensure that the replacement cubicle is designed to save costs and minimise energy usage.

  • All the systems installed use minimum electricity and water
  • The toilets will only be active when in use and for a short period after.
  • All lights will be LED
  • Roof can be green sedum, improving the carbon footprint of the toilet
  • Cleaning is only required in the cubicle and exterior door.
