The Central Theatre is a 966 all-seated venue in the heart of Chatham offering a mixed programme of shows, including high quality music productions, throughout the year. The specification for the replacement system is outlined in 2.1 below, along with minimum technical requirements for the venue and an image of the floor plan. It is necessary to replace The Central Theatre's sound reinforcement system with a new sound reproduction system that offers Delta Q for constant and even sound coverage and delivers high SPL and clarity across all media. In line with Medway Council's actions to address the climate crisis, the replacement system needs to be one built with sustainability in mind and feature auto standby functions which consume less power, and dual voltage and current feeds which allow the system to self-monitor and deliver voltage only when required. It needs to be powered by an energy supply which provides for the reuse of energy that is wasted in normal D class amplifiers. We require a state of the art sound system which will future-proof The Central Theatre against additional year-on-year spend for the foreseeable future, and additionally assist in the aims of The Central Theatre in increasing sustainability and reducing the venue's carbon footprint. The system will need to be installed by experts who have a strong understanding of the product, and who have experience of installing the system in venues such as The Central Theatre, which is not a purpose-built venue and poses particular challenges with achieving sound consistency across the venue. Quotes for installation should be included in any tender submitted. Quotes for immediate operational training should be included with any tender submitted. The Contract is anticipated to commence in September 2022 and it is anticipated that initial installation should take no more than one week, with the potential for some 'fine tuning' to take place into October. Installation and snagging must be conducted around existing venue commitments.
