Construction of a woodland footpath at The Tumps (BA2 2PR)

Bath & North East Somerset Council wishes to establish a one-off, fixed price Contract for the construction of a footpath through a public woodland known as The Tumps.

The intention is to construct a hoggin footpath to improve access and encourage visitors to follow a well-defined route. The path is approximately 380 metres long and is to be constructed using a no-dig method to avoid damage to tree roots. Some parts of the route are steep and large tree roots are present over which the path will need to constructed using steps.

When pricing for the work contractors should allow for challenging terrain, hauling materials over long distances and carrying out the work in a manner which is sensitive to the local ecology. Full details and a specification are included in the Invitation to Tender document.
