The Western Balkan Science Engagement Programme is a six months pilot programme that aims to contribute to resilience of states, communities and citizens across the Western Balkans to COVID-19 pandemic and its adverse impacts, by using and promoting science and scientific evidence. The programme thematic focus is around COVID-19 pandemic and its adverse impacts, and it crosscuts different sectors and themes, such as environment, health, education, gender, etc. Primary project beneficiaries are young female and male researchers, students and activists, while the secondary are policymakers, donors' representatives, and NGOs leaders across the Western Balkan region.

Applications are invited from UK based suppliers who are experienced in delivering policy engagement training, to design and deliver online training programme for up to 150 (min 120 -max 150) early career researchers (up to 25 per group) across the Western Balkan (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia). with the aim to improve their capabilities to translate scientific evidence into policy and more effectively engage with policy makers and other stakeholders.

The programme intends to achieve the following outcomes:

Outcome 1: Young female and male researchers and activists have capacities to use evidence to more effectively engage with policy and public
Outcome 2: Policymakers, donors, NGOs' aware of and influenced by the policy briefs/surveys in their responding to COVID-19 pandemic
Outcome 3: The general public targeted by trained young researchers is more informed by science and scientific evidence in responding to COVID-19 pandemic

Additional information: Bidders will be required to register on British Council`s e-Tendering portal In-Tend hosted at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/britishcouncil in order to take part in the tender process.

Once registered, bidders must log-in to the website where they can view the project and access the bidders pack and submit their return.

Bidders will also be required to demonstrate their capability and `means of proof` will be required. These conditions are outlined in the RFP.
