Nottinghamshire County Council wishes to improve the educational outcomes of all children and young people, especially the disadvantaged and vulnerable Its Education Improvement Service (EIS) supports schools across the region to provide a good education by enabling them to improve their effectiveness and resilience by providing, Consultation, support, Training & QA.
Through its Elective Home Education (EHE) team the LA, fulfils its duty to ensure that all school age children in its area are being suitably educated, and aims to monitor the effectiveness of children's home education provision and their safety. The team advises parents/carers, who have chosen to EHE, on the provision of a good education for their children.
The Council is establishing a list of suitably qualified and experienced education professionals Advisers to support to both the EIS & EHE teams. The process will assess the suitability of applicants. Details of the process are set out in the procurement documents.
Education Improvement Service Associate Adviser
To improve the educational outcomes of all children and young people in Nottinghamshire, especially the disadvantaged and vulnerable To enable schools to improve their effectiveness and resilience by providing them with a quality CPD offer, including:

To extend the reach of effective practice in meeting the needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people throughout the East Midlands Supporting schools in Nottinghamshire and across the East Midland to provide a good education for all pupils by:
| o | providing quality advice support and challenge to school leadership |
| o | supporting governors to carry out performance management statutory duties for Headteacher appraisal |
| o | supporting schools with the recruitment of high quality senior leaders. |
Elective Home Education Adviser
Through its team of EHE Advisers, the LA aims to monitor the effectiveness of home education provision and home educated children's safety.
Advising home educating parents/carers in Nottinghamshire on the provision of a good education for the children for whom they are responsible, by:
| o | exploring all matters relating to home education provision within a family context |
| o | offering advice and guidance to support parents to put a suitable programme of home learning in place |
| o | visiting home educating parents/carers and children regularly to consider whether or not the provision is suitable |
| o | stating when the Local Authority has any concerns about the education provision, what these are and giving the parent/carer an opportunity to address these concerns via recommendations made by the EHE Adviser |
Working with the LA and other relevant agencies to return a child to formal education when EHE has been found unsuitable or a child's safety is at risk
