The purpose of this tender exercise is to select a service provider whose delivery of a Vascular Ultrasound Service will represent value for money, high quality service; combined with the ability to identify and implement service efficiencies across the Trust contributing to a 5% cost reduction per annum.

Vascular ultrasound services are provided on an inpatient and outpatient basis across the 4 sites of The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, namely North Manchester General Hospital, Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Fairfield General Hospital (Bury).

Vascular ultrasound services are arranged in accordance with the needs of the Trust, and therefore, demand may vary.

There is not a guaranteed minimum activity level.

The Trust intends to award a contract for a period of three years with an option to extend for a further two 12 month periods.

This procurement exercise potentially involves the Salford Royal Foundation Trust.

The contract has not been split into Lots on commercial, operational and Contract Management grounds.

Additional information: This procurement process is being conducted under the 'Light Touch Regime', governing 'Social and Other Specific Services' as detailed in the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the Regulations) which are not subject to the full regime of the Regulations, but is instead governed by the Light Touch Regime contained within Chapter 3, Section 7 of the Regulations (Regulations 74 to 77).
