description

The London Borough of Croydon invites suitable expressions of interest and tenders from suppliers for Additional Key Stage 4 places. The requirement London Borough of Croydon invites suitable expression of interest from suppliers for additional places at KS4 which will provide: A framework for learners in Key Stage 4, principally in Year 11. who are new to Croydon either from overseas or elsewhere in the UK. This framework seeks providers who can ensure learners have access to high quality, full time, mainstream school like, education provision that enables them to achieve academically, progress positively onto post-16 destinations and successfully integrate into the wider Croydon community. It is anticipated the majority of these will be from overseas and need access to ESOL teaching. A significant proportion will also be children looked after by Croydon and other local authorities. Pupils will come from across the ability range. Providers at Key Stage 4 can offer academic and/or vocational pathways for learners. All providers offering full time education must offer appropriate qualifications in English and mathematics up to Level 2 and be appropriately registered with Ofsted. It is anticipated that the framework will contribute towards the following outcomes: Improving educational attainment at secondary level; Improving the opportunities for vulnerable children by narrowing the gap in attainment; and Increasing the proportion of 16-18 year olds in education, employment and training. The service is to be commissioned for three years, with a possible one year extension at the discretion of the London Borough of Croydon. The framework will commence September 2016.
