WSCC - JS - SME Digital Adoption Series

Background

West Sussex County Council has committed within its Economy Reset Plan 2020-2024 to maximize the impact of digital infrastructure investment in West Sussex, by promoting and encouraging the take-up of digital technology within West Sussex Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The County Council and the District and Borough Councils have agreed to work collaboratively on encouraging digital adoption and transformation. This commitment has become more important in the context of the pandemic, and features in partner 'economic reset / recovery' plans.

West Sussex is characterised by an SME economy, with 85% of business employing less than 10 people. A recent report from The Entrepreneurs Network (2020) argued that small firms need to make better use of digital technologies to tackle the sluggish productivity seen pre-pandemic, in order to bounce back faster post lockdown.

Requirement

West Sussex County Council (WSCC) require the delivery of support for SMEs, to encourage the adoption of digital technologies by businesses. It is envisaged that the support will be delivered as a series of webinars, which will be available to any business located in West Sussex, with fewer than 250 employees.

There are 4 Series as part of the requirement, they are:

• oSeries 1 - Getting online
• oSeries 2 - Customers & marketing
• oSeries 3 - Systems & productivity
• oSeries 4 - Growth, expansion & new products

Bidders can choose to bid and deliver one or all of the Series depending on their skill set and background.
