description

Kent County Council (KCC), NHS/Clinical Commissioning Groups are seeking to commission county-wide services for children and young people between the ages of 0-18 who have been victims/survivors of sexual abuse or who themselves exhibit harmful or inappropriate sexual behaviours and Risk Assessments. These services will support the overall emotional wellbeing of children and young people. A key part of this service is working with children and young people who have perpetrated abuse or who may pose a significant risk to other children. This would include children or young people who may not necessarily have been convicted as well as know offenders. It is recognised that such children and young people are likely to have considerable needs themselves. The screening and assessment of need, impact of behaviour and risk for such children and young people must include risk of harm the child or young person poses to others. Risk Assessments (RA) This is a specialist service which will be for small numbers of children and young people who may benefit from a detailed assessment of their behaviour and the risks they present and possible therapeutic intervention. Harmful or Inappropriate Sexual Behaviour Service (HSB) This is a specialist service which will be for small numbers of children and young people where there are persistent inappropriate or transgressive behaviours. These services are for children and young people up to their 18th birthday. The service will be delivered in an appropriate manner which will benefit those for whom it is intended, it may be delivered in the child's home, community or other suitable venue as agreed with the referring Social Worker, parent/s or carer and child or young person.
