description

At the Environment Agency, most of the writing we do is to inform or to instruct. This may be to businesses, internal audiences, other government departments or the general public. This information can be complex, technical or scientific, so it is vital that it is written in a way that the readers can understand in order to help us achieve our environmental outcomes. We promote high writing standards across the Agency through published guidance and in our internal communications development programme. We have a small number of in-house editorial experts who support subject matter authors to produce well-written content. The Agency is often required to produce scientific reports for the academic sector and other bodies to back up our climate change, waste and energy policies. In these instances, we require the expertise of specialist editors and/or writers to help us communicate effectively with a highly technical audience. Accordingly, we are seeking a small number of editors and writers to work with Agency staff across a range of environmental subjects, with experience in science editing, proofreading and copywriting, across a range of products (commercial, corporate and technical) and media formats.

Additional information: The Environment Agency is seeking a small number of flexible editors and writers, who can work confidently with our staff across a range of environmental subjects. We require people with a strong track record in science editing, proofreading and copywriting, across a range of products: commercial, corporate and technical, to include writing for different media formats i.e. digital channels. Suppliers interested in this opportunity are required to register on the Environment Agency's e-tendering system, www.sell2ea.com. Once registered, please log in and view contract reference 9UNG-VV8P22 Science Editors and Writers for further information on the requirement. Should you wish to submit a tender for this requirement, please do so by via the Sell2EA portal by 1pm on 16 June 2015.
