Carers Commissioning Service

Herefordshire's newly developed and approved carers strategy acknowledges that carers are one of Herefordshire's most valuable assets and play a crucial role within the county's health and social care sector.

The delivery of the strategy seeks a redesigned and newly commissioned carers' service that will supplement existing universal services. Delivering services in this way will help carers to find information and support within their own communities and, at the same time, provide extra resource where carers have a higher level of need.

The approach of the carers service will compliment and reflect the wider health and wellbeing agenda of promoting self-determination and wellbeing. It will provide a range of services across Herefordshire in accordance with the needs of carers within communities.
