description

This ITT is for Companies wishing to tender for the provision of consultancy services for the feasibility study & option appraisal for the further development of the Sportspark.

You are required to complete and return this questionnaire together with any supporting documentation by the date shown in Section 13.0.

UEA Sportspark is a multi-purpose sports facility situated on the campus of the University of East Anglia, which is part of the Norwich Research Park. The facility was opened in February 2001 by Princess Anne and was funded by a Sport England lottery grant.

Sportspark funds itself thanks to the 1.4 million customers that use and visit it every year. It currently receives no money from the University of East Anglia or any other government funding. Projects such as the new Gymnastics Centre or the three new 7-a-side 3G Football Pitches have been paid for with revenue that Sportspark has generated.

Facilities at the Sportspark include an Olympic sized Swimming Pool which can function as two 25-metre swimming pools with movable floors, a Fitness Centre, 10 metre high Climbing Wall called 'The Peak', five glass backed Squash Courts and 5 halls, which can be used for several different sports. Outside there is an eight lane Athletics Track, two 11-a-side AstroTurf Hockey/Football pitches, which can operate as 6 7-a-side football pitches, four 5-a-side 3G football pitches, three 7-a-side 3G pitched and six tarmacadam Tennis Courts, which can operate as 4 Netball Courts. The most recent addition is the Olympic Gymnastics Centre which was opened in September, 2011.

At the end of 2013, Sportspark invested ?1.3 million into a project to update some areas, including a brand new state of the art Fitness Centre and changing facilities incl. both wet and dry change.
