Storeton Land Fill Gas Precautions Monitoring and Maintenance Contract

This contract is primarily for delivery of goods or services to council establishments in Wirral. Wirral is a Metropolitan Borough of Merseyside in the North West of England with a population of approx 300,000 over 60 square miles. Storeton Quarry is an actively gassing ex-landfill site, now owned by Wirral Council.

In 1993, the gas was found to be migrating into surrounding residential properties so a remediation scheme, which utilises an active venting gas management system, was put in place.

The site is bounded by Mount Road, School Lane, Millfield Close, Derwent Road and Broomleigh Close and it covers an area of approximately 16,000m2
