description
The Home Office is considering advertising an exciting opportunity to provide QA and Test services for the Home Office and other Government departments and agencies. The opportunity will be as a framework, in lots which are yet to be determined, from which individual projects will call-off according to their specifications.
Home Office Technology, Test Design and Consultancy Services (TDCS) provide authority-side Test services for a range of projects and programmes across the Home Office. TDCS also share their technical services across wider government, where appropriate.
TDCS have successfully deployed Test services across government over the last 5 years, leading to significant growth, with customers including the full scope of the Home Office group, and other Government Departments.
The TDCS function is accredited to the highest level of external industry maturity standards (TMMi Level 5) and work continues to further develop services and build the capacity in order to be able to respond to programme and user needs. This includes supporting Agile delivery methods requiring sophisticated automation and tooling capabilities to support continuous release methods. There is also the need to meet growing demand for performance testing and integration testing within complex technical landscapes.
To maintain and build on previous success, TDCS require the support from private sector business partner(s). There is no guaranteed spend through this contract, with the total value being dependent on business demand and the success and effectiveness of the service provision. Current estimates are that services will be required up to a value of £28m/year initially, with the expectation that this may increase if the partnership is successful.
The Home Office is keen to seek the views of suitably experienced and qualified Service Providers to inform and refine their approach prior to the procurement stage. The intention is to hold exploration meetings with potential suppliers, most likely in London, within the coming weeks.
If your organisation might be interested in delivering this service, and would like to assist the Home Office in this exploration stage, please express an interest by e mail to paul.musgrave@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, before Friday 18th March.
