Replacement Cinema Seating for NFT1 and NFT2 at BFI Southbank

The current seating in BFI Southbank's main auditorium, NFT1, and the venue's second auditorium, NFT2, has reached end-of-life and requires replacing.

Specification for NFT1 and NFT2.

NFT1

• oSupply of 464 tip-up style cushioned cinema seats with cup holders arranged in staggered formation
• oTen additional seat backs, armrests and seats for use as spares.
• oTwo additional ushers seats with double arm rests
• oNon-organic fabric with stitched seat numbers, colour to be determined
• oMax backrest height 900mm
• oSeat back to seat back distance 1000mm
• oNine pairs of seats to be quick release for use as wheelchair spaces. See attached plan for locations.
• oAll seats in Row A and Row O should also be designed for easy removability.

NFT2

• oSupply of 149 tip-up style cushioned cinema seats with cup holders arranged in staggered formation
• oFive additional seat backs, armrests and seats for use as spares.
• oOne additional ushers seat with double arm rests
• oNon-organic fabric with stitched seat numbers, colour to be determined.
• oMax backrest height 900mm
• oSeat back to seat back distance 1000mm
• oTwo pairs of seats to be quick release for use as wheelchair spaces. See attached plan for locations.
• oApart from the back two rows (17 seats), NFT2 is ramped rather than tiered so seat bases should be adapted to accommodate the slope.
